MEDIUM ROAST - 12 OUNCE WHOLE BEAN
Notes of White Grape, Vanilla, and Floral Blossom
Competition Grade Coffee
Delicate hints of white grape complement the velvety smooth mouth feel and bright floral notes of this unique Indonesian coffee. The caramelization of sugars during key points of this roast yield a sweet vanilla like taste with a intoxicating floral finish.
KSU Arinagata has worked hard to improve the livelihoods of Indonesian farmers through the cooperative model. Arinagata is organic and Fairtrade certified and provides technical assistance and training for their farmer members. Additionally, Arinagata also operates a sister women’s cooperative called Ari Aras Awali.
The semi-washed processing of this coffee involves a fermentation period of 8 hours following de-pulping. After this, the coffee is dried until it reaches a moisture content of 40% before being collected by Arinagata collectors. At the cooperative’s warehouse, the coffee is hulled and further dried until it reaches 12.5% moisture content.
Pacayal Honey is an absolutely delicious light roast coffee. Gently roasted to ensure the beans do not produce a burnt flavoring.
Great coffee! Love the smell of it! Love that it's regeneratively sourced.
Pacayal is amazing, it’s so sweet and nutty. I tried it because the packaging looks amazing but the flavor blew me away.
I look forward to drinking this coffee everyday. It is so tasty. The chocolate and burnt caramel really come through and it is so smooth and not bitter. I don't feel any negative effects from this coffee either. Some coffees make me feel yuck. This one has been so clean and nice. My grocery store stopped carrying it and I had to hunt it down as I refuse to drink anything else. It's that good.
The shipping took longer than expected but that’s somewhat understandable due to the weather.
The coffee is not what I expected either. In my opinion, it’s roasted too dark. I can taste where it’s trying to go and I desperately want it. I might be wrong, but it doesn’t appear that the coffee was roasted fresh. It has a best by date of January 2025 which suggests that it was roasted in January. Not March. The bloom is also quite telling that it isn’t freshly roasted coffee.
I bought this on recommendation from Reddit.
