There’s a stillness before the first sip, as if the cup itself is holding its breath. Then Cielo Alto unfolds. Layered, structured, and alive with the quiet intensity of its mountainous origin. A masterpiece born of regenerative soil cultivation, generations of coffee wisdom, and a terroir found only in the cloud-covered mountain forests of Guatemala.

Here, streams and rivers carve through the highlands, carrying minerals born of dormant volcanoes that echo from long ago. Gentle rains blanket the forests in a rhythm as old as time, feeding the roots with a constant gift of pure mountain water. It is one of the most pristine coffee landscapes on earth, and you can taste its spirit in every cup.

Through the precision of our proprietary Culinary Roast™, Cielo Alto reveals its depth and grace. The first sip opens with the richness of sweet molasses, melting into the golden warmth of flaky butter pastry. A final thread of cocoa lingers, like the last bite of fine dark chocolate savored slowly.

Cielo Alto is coffee that speaks of land and people, of resilience and renewal. A testament to how beauty tastes when it is grown with care and precision.

Crafted using The Culinary Roast™ and sourced exclusively from 100% Regenerative Organic Certified farms, Cielo Alto is a unique cup of coffee that delivers flavor and body like nothing else.

Cielo Alto is 100% Regenerative Organic Certified, USDA Organic Certified, and Fair Trade Certified as well as Kosher.

Farm to Cup Journey

Cielo Alto is sourced from a collection of small, family-run farms in Guatemala, nestled beneath the seven peaks of Volcán Siete Orejas, a dormant giant whose slopes nourish the rivers and soil with mineral-rich volcanic earth. This picturesque highland is laced with pure streams and softened by gentle rains, creating one of the world’s most extraordinary coffee landscapes.

Brew & Pair Perfection

Through the magic of our proprietary Culinary Roast™, this coffee reveals notes of sweet molasses melting into the golden warmth of buttery pastry, finishing with a lingering hint of cocoa like the last bite of fine dark chocolate.

Cielo Alto best presents its flavor characteristics when brewed in a pour over or similar drip style brewer or an auto drip machine. The chocolatey notes do well as a cold brew and present a biscuty sweetness. Although this is a dynamic coffee, we don't recommend using Cielo Alto as an espresso as it doesn't display a fully rounded mouth feel at high pressure extraction.

FAQs

Unlike most coffee brands, Heirloom is a fully vertically integrated coffee roastery. We source, roast, package, and ship every bag ourselves. We never rely on contract roasters, co-packers, third-party logistics companies, or "roasting partners."

Every batch is handcrafted by our award-winning roasting team using our proprietary Culinary Roast™ Standard to maximize flavor and freshness and deliver an unmatched sensory experience.

For ground coffee, we never pre-grind. Each bag is ground only after your order is placed and immediately before shipping, ensuring it arrives at your door as fresh as possible, not after sitting pre-ground in a warehouse or on a retail shelf.

Remember, we're not a marketing company, we're a coffee roasting company.

Whether you choose whole bean or ground, your coffee is roasted, packaged, and shipped directly from our Oakland, California roastery to deliver the freshest coffee experience possible.

Absolutely. Every Heirloom coffee is sourced from 100% Regenerative Organic Certified® farms and undergoes one of the industry’s most rigorous testing programs.

Each and every lot of coffee is independently third-party lab tested three times for mold, mycotoxins and other naturally occurring toxins, heavy metals, and hundreds of synthetic pesticides and herbicides, including glyphosate/Roundup®.

Unlike companies that only test periodically or once a year, Heirloom tests at the lot level, meaning the specific coffee you receive has been tested and verified before it reaches your cup. Through our Clean Craft™ platform, every bag includes a QR code that allows you to view the lab results for that exact lot.

Every bag of Heirloom coffee is packaged immediately after roasting in premium, airtight, resealable bags with a one-way degassing valve. This allows naturally occurring CO₂ from freshly roasted coffee to escape while preventing oxygen from entering, preserving peak freshness, aroma, and flavor.

Unlike many large coffee brands, we don't manufacture massive production runs that sit in warehouses for months before they're sold. We also don't rely on nitrogen flushing to preserve aging coffee. Instead, we roast in small batches, package immediately, and ship directly from our Oakland, California roastery to your door.

The result is coffee that's naturally fresh, not coffee that's been engineered to survive months in storage. Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information so you can follow it every step of the way.

For optimal flavor, store your coffee in a cool, dark place in an airtight container away from direct sunlight.
