MEDIUM ROAST - 12 OUNCE WHOLE BEAN
Notes of Caramel and roasted nuts with a cocoa finish
Competition Grade Coffee
Afterglow decaf is a crown jewel in the Heirloom Lineup. The entire roasting process has been re-written for this coffee. After numerous attempts and a whole lot of trial and error we finally found the right roasting technique to deliver a competition quality cup of decaf coffee. The beans are Fair trade, organic, regeneratively farmed and ultra-premium Indonesian beans decaffeinated using a slow-water decaffeination process. We roast this coffee by utilizing culinary techniques to bring forward a nutty caramel flavor in an otherwise subtle coffee while preserving and amplifying its natural cocoa finish.
Recently I’ve cut out caffeine for health reasons, and I’ve struggled to find a good decaf that doesn’t taste like decaf. When I found this I thought I’d give it a try, not expecting much. I liked that it was Organic too. I ended up absolutely love this one and the flavor notes are exactly what I prefer. Stoked that my local nutrition store has them. Definitely worth trying!
Pacayal Honey is an absolutely delicious light roast coffee. Gently roasted to ensure the beans do not produce a burnt flavoring.
Great coffee! Love the smell of it! Love that it's regeneratively sourced.
Pacayal is amazing, it’s so sweet and nutty. I tried it because the packaging looks amazing but the flavor blew me away.
I look forward to drinking this coffee everyday. It is so tasty. The chocolate and burnt caramel really come through and it is so smooth and not bitter. I don't feel any negative effects from this coffee either. Some coffees make me feel yuck. This one has been so clean and nice. My grocery store stopped carrying it and I had to hunt it down as I refuse to drink anything else. It's that good.
The shipping took longer than expected but that’s somewhat understandable due to the weather.
The coffee is not what I expected either. In my opinion, it’s roasted too dark. I can taste where it’s trying to go and I desperately want it. I might be wrong, but it doesn’t appear that the coffee was roasted fresh. It has a best by date of January 2025 which suggests that it was roasted in January. Not March. The bloom is also quite telling that it isn’t freshly roasted coffee.
I bought this on recommendation from Reddit.
