Bedrock is a dark roast that’s big, bold, and unapologetic—yet never burnt or bitter. Sourced from 100% Regenerative Organic Certified farms in Central & South America, each bean is nurtured in living soil to develop a naturally sweet core. Through The Culinary Roast™, we push these beans to their flavorful edge, delivering layers of dark chocolate, warming spice, and a flicker of stone fruit brightness.
Despite its intensity, Bedrock stays smooth, offering a syrupy mouthfeel that’s balanced and satisfying in every sip. It’s no surprise this coffee is a two-time Golden Bean Award winner (2022 & 2023), celebrated for achieving the depth and complexity most dark roasts only dream of.

Initially I had thought it was smoky tasting, but I later found that this was because I had been grinding it with an Oxo conical burr grinder which was producing way too many fines. I later purchased a Kingrinder K6. Grinding the Bedrock Blend with the K6 produces a cup of coffee with a nice mild sweetness and warmth or juiciness, which I think corresponds to the described stone fruit and warming spice notes. I couldn't pick out the dark chocolate note, but maybe I just need to upgrade to a better grinder or get more experience tasting coffees.
At any rate, this blend produces a very pleasantly sweet cup of coffee--just don't make my mistake. Get a decent grinder before ordering specialty coffees like this one. A great coffee's flavor can really be wasted when ground with a poor quality grinder.
Favorite coffee! We used to buy from a local store that carried this and they are closing so I signed up for the coffee subscription. Worth it
Robust, flavorful, and a pure delight to the senses. There's a unique joy that steams from my cup knowing that this coffee is not merely avoiding harm to our Earth, but actively nourishing her, her ecosystems, and her farmers. Deliciously ethical and nourishing to the soul during our current moment in time.
Awesome flavor! Loved the decaf actually.
I’ve been named the coffee diva on more than one occasion. I worked in a big box coffee store and went through the master program. Thousands of coffee tastings. Tastings in Hawaii. Costa Rica. Mexico. Dominican Republic. I know what I like and don’t like. I’m particular about a roast (or lack therof) and flavor… this coffee is delightful. The notes of cocoa really come through. It’s smooth, doesn’t feel acidic. Roasted to perfection, I’m genuinely thrilled to find this company and this roast! I’ve used the Chemex and done a French press, it’s perfect both ways. Thank you! I’ll be trying other roasts as well.
